I definitely sent waaaaaaaaaay too many proofs to this kiddo’s parents because I just couldn’t narrow it down any more (sorry guys)! Not only is Huckleberry handsome, but he gives the best head tilts when you say ‘banana’ so it’s not really my fault🍌🤭

‘Ball is life’ happens to be this guy’s life motto and it pretty much sums up his fun-time-Charlie personality🎾

We originally planned on holding his shoot at Propsect Mountain, but the park was unexpectedly closing early so we did a super quick pivot and ran down to the Lake George dog beach instead. It’s funny how when you just kind of go with the flow things tend to work out better than planned!!

Potato Chip rocked his shoot and had a blast kicking up sand, chasing his ball and just generally being a silly boy. Happy dog, happy photos📸

The quiet is heartbreaking. I woke up to an empty space where you used to noisily sleep. Instead of two leashes, I only grab one for the morning walk. Food is still sitting in the dog bowl with no fear of stolen bites.

How many seemingly mundane moments today will remind me that you’re gone and break my heart all over again? How can this hurt so much?

One of my goals for 2025 was to get uncomfortable and submit my work to a competition for professional critique. So, I entered six images to my first official photography competition, @internationalpetphotoawards, to dip my toe in the water and my goal was to achieve one bronze award. I got FOUR bronze awards, two of which are with distinction!!

I know there is so much I need to learn to create the images I dream of, but for now I’m going to celebrate this small achievement🥹

The entire drive to Esperance for this session it was raining cats and dogs (pun intended😜) and then, just like that, as I pulled up to the parking lot it stopped. It was as if Mother Nature knew what I needed and happily obliged. Bonus: she even gave us a little sunshine☀️

Best of all though was watching this trio bravely conquer every pose we asked of them. Talos is just a puppy so this was a whole new world for him with strange and interesting things to explore and gangly limbs that he doesn’t quite have control over yet. Gus was the bravest and kind of showed the other two how things were done. Bertie…well, she stole my heart. She was often the most nervous, but man did she shine when she was in front of the camera! Her earnest little face just gets me right in the ticker🥹
