My Process
Let's chat! Whether it's on the phone, over Zoom or in person with coffee, we need to get together to discuss things before we jump into the session. First off, I want to hear all about you. If it's your dog I'll be photographing I want to know how special they are, what's their favorite treat, are they lazy or crazy, do they fetch, do they have a 'trigger' word to elicit the perfect head tilt, etc. I want to know all the details because that will help me connect with your dog as much as possible in the small amount of time we'll have together. Second, we'll talk about the nitty-gritty stuff like ideal location, date, time, weather, apparel or collar and leash choice, etc.
Ok, so we've decided on the date, location and session type--now the administrative side of things needs to be wrapped up. I'll send you an invoice for the $225 session retainer fee and, once you pay that I'll add your session to my calendar. I'll email you the contract and liability waiver to be signed prior to session day. You'll also receive my product and session guides to help you prepare for your session and ordering.
*The $225 session retainer fee will be applied 100% to your chosen package
It's the big day! We'll meet up at our chosen location and make magic happen. I cover session FAQs in more detail below so please keep reading if you have questions such as "my dog doesn't sit still so how will you photograph them?" or "my dog can't be off leash so how can we make this happen?".
Before I leave you on session day, I'll make sure to confirm the next steps and timeline for when you'll receive your images.
I've narrowed your image gallery down to those where everyone's eyes are open and in focus, applied basic edits to make them pretty and help you see their potential. Now it's your turn! You'll have a full week to review your online gallery of ~100 images and make your final picks. It can be overwhelming, but I'm always here to walk you through everything, answer questions and help guide you to the perfect choices.
Remember: the $225 session retainer fee will be fully applied to your purchase!
I want to make sure everything is perfect before you see your portraits so your order will be delivered to me for review and then I will personally deliver the package right to your door.
I truly love what I do and my ultimate goal is for that feeling to show through my work and make your heart happy!

FAQ
How do I book a photo session?
Either use the booking link here in my website or contact me to coordinate directly! The $225 Session Retainer will be due upon booking to confirm your session date on my calendar.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! I know hiring a professional photographer can be a big investment so I'm happy to help make it affordable for everyone with payment plan options. Let's talk about it.
Do you work internationally?
If you're willing to pay my airfare I am more than happy to come along on a trip to photograph you and your beloved ones. Let's go!
What is your typical timeline?
I try my best to have a sneak peek sent to everyone the day of their session and the lightly-edited proof gallery within a week, but sometimes I need a little extra wiggle room. I have a full-time job outside of photography so I may need a couple weeks when things are busy.
What payment methods are available?
I accept cash, credit, Venmo, ApplePay, check and PayPal.
Do you have a referral program?
Not at this time, but I'm tossing around the idea so stay tuned...
My dog can't be off-leash, can we still do an outdoor session?
1000% YES!! The vast majority of dogs cannot be off-leash for our session either because they don't have reliable recall, they're not friendly with other dogs or people, the location is high-traffic, etc. We tackle this "problem" by choosing the right collar and lead set, as well as editing out those pesky distractions in Photoshop. Picking the right collar and leash is super important because there are better choices than others in terms of editing. Simple, 1" or less width collars with minimal tags are easiest to get rid of in post-production. Martingales, multiple collar combos (flea-choke-regular), lots of tags and such are much harder to edit out of portraits and sometimes can't be without leaving obvious blemishes in the photo. Long black leashes are best, but we can usually work with most types of leashes because the trick with them is more about how you hold them;)
Can I be in the photos with my dog?
Again, an emphatic YES!! I love photographing people with their dogs.
I have multiple dogs, do I have to pay extra for them?
No, BUT a good rule of thumb to keep in mind is that there should be one handler for each dog. I can't do much dog wrangling from behind the camera so if you do have more than one dog I highly recommend you bring a friend or two to help out.
